I went to Bob's today for the yearly PA mandatory vehicle inspection. It was very close to my house. I went there this year because of a recommendation from one of my son's friends and was not disappointed. It is a local family based business with people that have hearts of gold and love what they do. I think the prices were very reasonable. I was touched by their sincere genuinous and integrity. A few weeks ago I dropped off my car to be inspected and when I picked it up It had a faint smell of smoke. I didn't think much of it and thought maybe I was just imagining it. But recently I dropped my wife's car off for an inspection and when we went to pick it up I was waiting for her in the parking lot I saw an older gentleman open one of the garage doors to take a trashcan to the dumpster and he had a cigar in his mouth. I picked up my car recently from having some work done and I immediately noticed that it smelled badly like cigar smoke. Reading past reviews it seems like they know it's a problem but aren't really doing anything to fix it. Just assume you will get your car back and it will smell bad.
This place is odd. Went because I desperately needed to find out why my car was pulling it's shifts... They took the car in ... "Checked it out" for 15 minutes then just straight up said "you need a new transmission. We'll call you with an estimate." About two weeks later and I'm still waiting on that estimate. Thank God I found another mechanic who was able to correctly diagnose my car and fix it for a lot less. In a way these people saved me thousands of dollars by ignoring me so ... Thanks? CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! We took our vehicle to get a transmission put in it that we had bought somewhere else, so we knew that they would not guarantee the transmission, but they did guarantee their work. When we took the car in, the transmission had stopped working, but there were no lights on the dashboard. When we picked the car up, after they put the transmission in, we were made aware that the dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree with all kinds of codes, that were not there when we took it in.
